A mirror of polished brass, ringed in Sanskrit.
The Cundi mirror is an object of practice, not of vanity. Cundi (准提) is the bodhisattva called mother of the buddhas, and her mantra is recited in front of a mirror so the practitioner watches their own face while they speak it, the reflection standing in for the mind being cleared. The face is polished brass, the older kind of mirror, and the reverse carries her image.
In feng shui a brass mirror also faces outward at a door to turn back what should not come in, but this one is made for the altar, and it is the smaller of the two sizes we carry, suited to a desk or a shelf where you sit to practise.
Placement: altar or desk, on its stand, face toward where you sit. Not facing the bed.
