Cundi's mirror, cast in brass at sixteen centimetres across.
A brass mirror is the old kind, polished metal rather than silvered glass, and this one is made for the Cundi practice: the lettering runs in Sanskrit around the rim, the bodhisattva's image is on the reverse, and the face is kept clear so the practitioner can watch their own face while reciting. Cundi (准提) is called the mother of the buddhas, kept for purification and for the protection of the household that keeps her.
The larger of the two sizes we carry, chosen for an altar shared by a family, or for a practice room where it has to be seen from the far side.
Placement: altar or shrine table, on its stand, facing the seat. Keep the face clean and dry.
