Frosted White Seated Buddha

A seated Buddha in frosted white, the robe edged in gold.

The style is Thai: the flame finial rising from the crown, the long ears, the narrow waist, the robe caught with a band of gold and scattered with gold leaves. The two larger figures sit with hands pressed together, the gesture of respect and greeting; the smallest rests one hand on the knee, palm open. Cast in resin and frosted so the light passes through it, the figure reads as glass from across a room and glows if a lamp or a candle sits behind it.

A Buddha is not placed for luck; it is placed as a reminder. It suits a reading corner, the line of sight from a meditation cushion, or the shelf you see first in the morning.

Placement: above waist height on a shelf or altar, never on the floor, and not in a bathroom or facing one.
