A dragon coiled across a tablet of smoky, see-through obsidian.
The dragon is the one creature in the Chinese zodiac that never lived, and the only one that ranks with emperors. It stands for ambition, authority and the kind of luck that comes to people who move first. It is carved here in high relief, the body winding twice across the tablet with the head at the top, and cut into ice obsidian so the scales catch light from behind.
Obsidian is volcanic glass, long kept for grounding and protection, so the piece pairs the dragon's push with something to stand on. A heavier pendant than most, on a full bead chain, and a common gift for a man starting a business or for anyone born in a dragon year.
- Pendant: ice obsidian, translucent smoky brown; supplier lists natural, unconfirmed
- Chain: full black bead chain with one gold-tone accent bead
