A protection amulet of cinnabar, engraved with mantra script on both faces.

In the tradition cinnabar is worn as living protection, the red believed to steady vitality and turn misfortune aside before it settles.

Amulets in this form are carried as written protection, the script itself doing the work whether or not it is ever read. This one is engraved edge to edge, front and back, and finished with a small carved coin bead above.

For anyone who wants their safeguard in writing, worn on an adjustable braided cord.
