A sword of peachwood with a dragon along the blade and a red tassel.
The peachwood sword is the Taoist priest's tool, the one carried into a house that needs clearing. Peach is the wood the tradition holds that spirits will not cross, which is why it was carved into door charms long before it was carved into blades, and a sword of it hung above the threshold has been the standard guard for a Chinese home for centuries. It is not sharp and was never meant to be; the wood and the shape do the work. The dragon along the blade is there for good fortune, the red tassel for the same.
Placement: above the inside of the front door, hung flat, tip toward the door and never toward a bed or a seat.
