Six Tube Aluminium Wind Chime

Six aluminium tubes hung from a black disc, sounding in a light wind.

In feng shui the chime is a metal remedy. Of the five elements, metal is the one that cuts and clears, and a metal chime is hung where air has stopped moving: a front door, a long corridor, a window that faces something you would rather not look at. Six tubes is the traditional count for the metal element. The sound is the point, not the look, and a chime that never rings is doing nothing.

The striker hangs in the middle of the tubes and a flat disc below it catches the wind. In black on black, or with bright silver tubes against the dark wood.

Placement: outside the front door, at the end of a long hallway, or by a window facing a sharp corner or a road. Not beside a bedroom where it will ring all night.
