A laughing Buddha in a gold robe, fanning himself whenever the sun is out.
Budai, the laughing monk, is kept for contentment and easy fortune, the figure who owns nothing but a cloth sack and laughs anyway. This one sits on a small solar panel, and in daylight the arm with the fan rocks back and forth on its own, no battery and no switch. The ingot at his feet reads 招财进宝, the New Year wish for wealth to come in and treasure to stay.
Made for a car dashboard, where it catches the sun through the windscreen, though it does the same job on a sunny windowsill or a desk by the glass.
