Sunburst Disc Sculpture Pair

Two discs of radiating strips, one larger, one smaller, each on a black stand.

The Chinese name is 圆满, round and full, a circle closed. It is the word for a task finished properly, a marriage that lasts, a family with no one missing, and the shape is the meaning: hundreds of short strips fanning out from an open centre to a full round edge, catching light along every broken end.

The pair is made for a console, a mantel or a sideboard, set a little apart so the two circles read together. Often bought for the move into a new home.
