Tibetan Vajra Dorje

The vajra, or dorje, is the thunderbolt of Tibetan Buddhist practice.

Its name means both thunderbolt and diamond, two ideas at once: unstoppable force, and something that cannot be broken. In ritual it stands for skilful method and steady resolve, and is often paired with the bell, the vajra for method, the bell for wisdom. The symmetrical form, prongs curving to a point at each end, is meant to be held as a focus during practice.

Hand-forged in brass in Nepal, it suits an altar, a meditation space, or a desk.
